Start with the win condition
The Steam store names six modes for Hood Warfare 2. Each one changes what your team needs from you. Before a match, decide whether you are playing for control, kills, a carried objective or a decisive round. The rules below are drawn from the official description; the practice suggestions are our editorial advice.
Turf War — control territory
Your gang scores from the territory it holds. Take control and contest the opposing gang’s turf. The important question is which areas your team can keep, not simply where you last saw an opponent.
Suggested focus: check where teammates are committed before choosing your next route. If everyone follows the same chase, think about the objective you are leaving exposed.
GangBang — win the team shootout
Two gangs compete for the higher kill count. This is the most direct team combat rule set among the six listed modes.
Suggested focus: move with enough space to react, but stay close enough to help a teammate. After a lost fight, review the angle and approach before returning by the same route.
Chaos — compete on your own
Chaos is a free-for-all contest in which the player with the most kills wins. You have no team objective to defend and no gang teammates to rely on.
Suggested focus: check the surroundings before committing to a fight. Choose routes you can understand and use the mode to notice which engagements suit your current weapon.
Hit A Lick — bring the bag home
Take the opposing side’s bag and return it to your own hood while protecting your bag.
Suggested focus: coordinate the return as well as the approach. A teammate carrying the bag may need help reaching home, while someone still needs to pay attention to your own objective.
Destroy The Block — make your one life count
One gang tries to plant a bomb and the other tries to stop it or defuse it. Each player gets one life per round.
Suggested focus: slow down long enough to understand your role. Communicate useful information and consider how an early elimination changes your side’s remaining options.
Chain Snatch — secure the pickup
Enemy eliminations leave chains to collect for points. Recovering a teammate’s chain prevents the other gang from collecting it.
Suggested focus: inspect the area before moving to a dropped chain. The pickup is part of the objective, but a careless approach may create another chain for the opposing team.
